Terms of use
Last updated: October 5, 2026
In short: CodeGiver helps you hand out codes one at a time. You are responsible for the codes you put in and who you give them to. The app is made with care and provided as it is, without guarantees.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to the Android app CodeGiver and the website codegiver.app, made by Dennis Smit ("the developer") and published on Google Play under the name Smit Media. By using the app you agree to these terms. How the app handles your data is described in the privacy policy.
2. What the app does
CodeGiver stores lists of codes that you enter yourself, such as promo codes, vouchers, license keys or access codes, and hands them out one at a time inside a message that you write. The app does not create, check or redeem codes and has no connection to the service the codes belong to.
3. Your codes, your responsibility
You are responsible for the codes you put into the app, for who you give them to and for following the rules of the party that issued the codes, such as the rules of Google Play for promo codes. Only enter codes you are allowed to hand out, and do not use CodeGiver for spam, misleading or unlawful purposes.
4. Keep a backup
Your lists are stored on your own phone. If you lose them, the developer cannot bring them back. Use the backup options in the app and keep the original list of your codes.
5. Services of others
The app is distributed through Google Play, whose terms apply to downloading, rating and buying in the app. When you enter a web address to fetch an icon for a list, the app visits that website; the terms of that website apply to it.
6. CodeGiver Pro
The Android app is free to use with one list of up to 25 codes. CodeGiver Pro is an optional one-time purchase, not a subscription, that raises this to ten lists of up to 500 codes each and unlocks extra features: statistics and labels on codes. The purchase is handled by Google Play and is linked to your Google account, so it also works on a new phone with the same account. Payment, cancellation and refunds follow the rules of Google Play; your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected. Lists you already have stay usable, also without Pro.
7. Availability
The app is made and maintained with care, but it is provided as it is. The developer cannot guarantee that the app always works without errors on every device. Features may be changed, added or removed.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for damage caused by using the app, such as a code that is lost, handed out by mistake or given to the wrong person. Check a code before you send it when it matters. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
9. Name, logo and app
The name CodeGiver, the logo, the app and the website belong to the developer. You may use the app, but you may not copy it, resell it or distribute a modified version.
10. Changes
These terms may be changed when the app changes. The date at the top shows the last change. If you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply.
11. Applicable law and contact
These terms are governed by Dutch law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection of the country where you live. Questions? Use the contact form on this website.
